**IMPORTANT CHANGES TO THE PETS SYSTEM**
We have recently enhanced the system, in light of the EU Regulation on the non-commercial movement of pet animals, to enable each carrier to include the following extra information when inputting data:
Animal type: If your organisation has agreed to transport ferrets you can now record them in the PETS system in addition to cats and dogs. The process for recording ferrets is exactly the same as cats and dogs.
Certification type: You will now need to specify the type of documentation which accompanied the pet i.e. EU pet passport, PETS certificate or official veterinary certificate.
Additional failure reasons: You will now notice that dependent on the certification type you select for each failure you are presented with failure reasons specific to that type of certification. These failure reasons correspond to the appropriate Failure Return form i.e. PETS 4A Failure Return form relates to pets with a PETS certificate, PETS 4B Failure Return form relates to pets with an EU pet passport and PETS 4C Failure Return Form relates to pets with an official veterinarian certificate.
